Parcels. There are certain concession rates of postage for families of personnel serving on H.M. Ships and of Commonwealth Forces and information about these rates may be obtained from the Army Post Office, KOWLOON or from Fleet Mail Office, H.M.S. TAMAR. concession rates apply only to particular destinations; for other destinations the rates are as indicated under the sub-heading PARCELS in the table commencing on page 58.
POSTAL SERVICES BY AIR MAIL
Full particulars of the services available to the various countries and the fees payable are shown in the Air Mail services list. No in- formation can be furnished by the Post Office as to whether a particular unit or ship can be reached by air and it must rest with the sender to decide whether or not to pay the postage appropriate to air mail transmission.
METHOD OF ADDRESS
The address of all correspondence and parcels intended for members of H.M. Army and Air Forces should in general include the following particulars in the order shown:-
(1) Army or Air Force number, rank and name;
(2) Squadron, battery, or other section of the Unit;
(3) Designation of the Unit in full;
(4)
The indication "R.A.F." in the case of an Air Force address; (5) The name of the particular force in which serving, for example,
"Far East Land Forces (F.E.L.F.)"
Correspondence for personnel of H.M. Ships should in general be addressed to the name of the ship care of F.M.O., Hong Kong if it is known that the ship is in Hong Kong waters; care of B.F.M.O., Singapore if in Malayan waters; care of B.F.M.O., Tokyo if in Japanese or Korean waters; care of G.P.O., London if elsewhere or if its whereabouts are unknown. Every letter should bear on the cover the name and address of the sender.

PACKING
Owing to movements of personnel, ships, etc., parcels which are in- adequately packed run great risk of damage of loss of contents; consequently a higher standard of packing is generally necessary; see also pages 25-26. Additional security is afforded by an outer covering of linen, calico or canvas which should be securely sewn up.
REGISTRATION
Letters are accepted for registration under the same conditions governing the overseas post, see pages 42-45. The registration fee is 30c in addition to postage. There is no service for parcels.
