NOTICE TO MARINERS, No. 715.

SHANGHAI DISTRICT.
Yangtze River-Tungchow Channel.
Buoys Moved-Buoy Established-Buoy Discontinued.
REFERRING to Special Notice to Mariners No. 583, notice is hereby given that the following alterations have been made in the buoyage of the Tungchow Channel, Yangtze River :-
Corner Buoy has been moved, and from the new position of the Buoy, Plover Point Beacon bears S. 4° W., distant 17 miles, its characteristics. remaining unchanged.
A red Buoy surmounted by a black inverted triangular daymark, to be known. as Edge Buoy, has been established on the northern side of the lower end of the Tungchow. Channel. From the Buoy, Plover Point Beacon bears S. 132 E., distant 2:9 miles.
Bend Buoy has been moved, and from the new position of the Buoy, Plover Point Beacon bears S. 221° E., distant 414 miles, its characteristics remaining unchanged.
· Reach Buoy has been moved, and from the new position of the Buoy, Plover Point Beacon bears S. 36° 10' E., distant 5'42 miles, its characteristics remaining unchanged.
Central Buoy has been moved, and from the new position of the Buoy, Fushan Pagoda bears S. 793 W., distant 6.74 miles, its characteristics remain- ing unchanged.1
Bank Buoy has been moved, and from the new position of the Buoy, Fushan Pagoda bears S. 68° W., distant 55 miles, its characteristics remaining unchanged.
Turning Buoy has been moved, and from the new position of the Buoy, Fushan Pagoda bears 'S. 50° 10′ W., distant 521 miles, its characteristics remaining unchanged.
Upper Plover Point Buoy has been discontinued.
The Buoys are laid close off shoals on the sides of the channel, and mark the extreme edge of the channel according to their respective navigating colours, and therefore should not be passed at a less distance than 14 cables.
CAUTION.
The Tungchow Channel is subject to rapid change and should be navigated with
caution.
All bearings given are magnetic.
