SPECIAL NOTICE TO MARINERS, No. 583.
CHINA.
SHANGHAI DISTRICT.
Yangtze River-Tungchow Channel.
Buoys to be moved-Buoy to be established --Buoy to be discontinued.
NOTICE is hereby given that on or about the 5th December, 1920, the following altera tions will be made in the buoyage of the Tungchow Channel, Yangtze River, consequent on recent changes in the channel :-
Corner Buoy will be moved about 2:2 cables N. 31° E. from its present position,
its characteristics remaining unchanged.
A red Buoy, surmounted by a black inverted triangular daymark, to be known as Edge Buoy, will be established on the northern side of the Tungchow Channel in a position from which Plover Point Beacon will bear about S. 13° E., distant 2·9 miles.
Bend Buoy will be moved about 2-7 cables N. 20° W. from its present position,
its characteristics remaining unchanged.

Reach Buoy will be moved about 3 cables S. 25° W. from its present position,
its characteristics remaining unchanged.
Central Buoy will be moved about 25 cables S. 9° W. from its present posi-
tion, its characteristics remaining unchanged.
Bank Buoy will be moved 2 cables S. 21° W. from its present position, its
characteristics remaining unchanged.
Turning Buoy will be moved 2.2 cables N. 48° W. from its present position, its
characteristics remaining unchanged.
Upper Plover Point Buoy will be discontinued.
CAUTION.
Until such time as the above alterations have been effected mariners should navigate the Tungchow Channel with caution, and vessels should pass to the southward of the Reach Buoy at a least distance of 3 cables, whilst Central and Bank Buoys should be passed close by.
All bearings given are magnetic.

Derelict reported in vicinity of Shantung Promontory.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following telegraphic report, dated 4th December, 1920, has been received from the British Naval Authorities at Weihaiwei :-
"American S.S. Abarenda reports to-day derelict 3 miles north Shantung
Promontory."
