On the 22nd at 12.20 p.-"The barometer has fallen generally except over the S. Philippines, the most marked fall being shown over the Loochoos and S.W. Japan. The depression embraces a large area and remains very much elongated. Its axis appears to lie along a line extending from the Balingtang Channel to a point to the E. of the Loochoos. One centre, which appears to be moving Northwards, is lying to the E.S.E. of the Loochoos. Another centre may exist in the neighbourhood of the Balingtang Channel. Except over E. Japan, pressure is below the normal generally, particularly over Luzon, Formosa and the Loochoos where it is in defect by between 0.2 and 0.3 inch. Strong N.E. winds are expected to prevail in the Formosa Channel, and strong N. to W. winds over the N.E. part of the China Sea." Forecast : N. W. winds, moderate or fresh; fair."

On the 23rd at 11.55 a.— The barometer has fallen moderately to considerably over the Loochoos and S. Japan, and a slight fall has taken place also over the China coast and Formosa. It has risen slightly in the Philippines. The depression remains very much elongated in a S.W. and N.E. direction, and differences of pressure at stations situated near its major axis, S. Formosa to S.W. Japan, are small. Probably the area of actual lowest pressure is still situated to the E.S.E. of the Loochoos, and it appears to be moving slowly Northwards. Pressure is high, about 0.1 inch above the normal over E. Hokkaido, and in defect by between 0.3 and 0.4 inch over the Loochoos, and by about 0.2 inch over S. Japan, S. China, Formosa and Luzon. Fresh N. to N.W. winds are likely to prevail in the Formosa
Forecast:- Channel, and freshening W. to S.W, winds over the N. part of the China Sea.” "W to S.W. winds, moderate or fresh; fair to showery."
On the 24th at 12.10 p. "The barometer is rising slowly over S. China, Formosa and Luzon. It has fallen slightly in N. China. The depression has probably approached S.W. Japan. The observations from thence are, however, lacking this morning. Pressure is still below the normal by about 0.2 inch over the China coast and Formosa, and by about 0.1 inch in Manila. Moderate or fresh N.W. to S.W. winds may be expected in the Formosa Channel, and the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast:- "W. to S.W. winds, moderate; fair to showery."
On the 25th at 11.55 a.---- The barometer has fallen slightly in E. Japan, and risen slightly to moderately elsewhere. The depression which has continued to move in a Northerly direction, is now situated over Central Japan. Pressure remains high, about 0.1 inch above normal at Nemuro, to the E. of N. Japan. It has approached the normal over the S. Philippines, but is still in moderate to considerable defect over the China coast. Moderate or fresh W. and S.W. winds are likely to prevail in the Formosa Channel, and the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast :-"W. to S.W. winds, moderate or fresh; fair to showery."

On the 26th at 11.55 a. "The barometer continues to rise slowly over China and the Philippines. The Japanese returns are not yet to hand, but probably the depression is over the Sea of Japan. Pressure is highest and normal over the S. Philippines. It is still in slight to moderate defect over the China coast and Formosa. Moderate variable winds are likely to prevail in the Formosa Channel, and moderate S. W. winds over the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast :- "W. and S.W. winds, moderate; fair."
On the 27th at 12.05 p.- "The barometer has risen slightly in S. Japan, and fallen a little over S. China and the Philippines. Pressure remains low, about 0.3 inch below the normal, over S. Japan and the Loochoos, and it is still in defect by 0.1 inch and upwards on the China coast. Pressure is highest and normal over the S. Philippines. Moderate N.W. winds are indicated in the Formosa Channel, and moderate W. to S. W. winds over the N. part of the China Sea.

On the 28th at 12.10 p.-"The barometer has fallen moderately to slightly over the N.E. and S.E. coasts of China respectively. Pressure is highest and near the normal over The the S. Philippines. It remains low on the China coast, particularly in the North. Japanese returns for this morning are not yet to hand. Those of yesterday afternoon Moderate showed that pressure remained very low over and to the Southward of S. Japan. variable winds may be expected in the Formosa Channel, and moderate or fresh S. W. winds over the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast :-" W. to S.W. winds, moderate or fresh ; fair to showery."
