IX. This Ordinance, Ordinance No. 12 of 1860, dzfterma

Ordinance No. 5 of 1863 and Ordinance No. 11 of 1867, shall be construed together and for all requi- site Purposes be deemed and taken as One Ordi- nance, and the Ways and Means for carrying this Ordinance into effect shall be the same as prescribed by the two last mentioned Ordinances.

VIII. Every Person whoinsoever required by the Co-operation Superintendent of Police to co-operate with any Brigade Fire Brigade, whether consisting of Volunteers or uot, so that the sume be approved by His Excelleney, or in the Working of Fire Engines or in the Sup- pression of Fire, shall be bound to obey such Requi- sition under the Penalty for every case of Disobedi- ence, of not less than Ten Dollars nor more than Fifty Dollars, to be imposed by any Justice of the Peace,

or (if such Justice shall think fit and the Offender These words shall be a Chinaman) of not more than Fifteen Blows nor less than Five Blows.

of Hongkong, with the advice of the

Legislative Council thereof, "to amend

Ordinance 9 of 1857.

E it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong,

with the advice of the Legislative Council

thereof, as follows :---

I. Section 8 of Ordinance 9 of 1857 is hereby

amended by striking out the words "or (if such
