Notification No. 207 of Department of Communications.

South Coast of Honshu.

New light to be shown.

NOTICE is hereby given that the newly established O-shima Lighthouse on Kazahaya- saki, N. end of O-shima, Province of Izu, will be shown as follows on and after the 1st of April, 1915 :--

O-shima Lighthouse.

Position ----Latitude 31° 47′ 47′′ N., Longitude 139° 22′ 30′′ E. (According to

Japanese Admiralty charts Nos, 51 and 80).

Description :-Octagonal concrete tower, painted white.

Height of light :---35 shaku above the base, 370 shaku above the water. Character of light: Fourth order group flashing white, showing a triple flash in quick succession during 12 seconds, followed by an eclipse of 18

seconds.

Illuminated are:- -An are 265° 35', from N. 30° 25′ E., through E., S. and W.,

to N. 64° W. (Magnetic bearings taken from seaward).

Candle power:---30,000.

Visible distance :---269 nautical miles in clear night.

CHINA SEA.

SHANGHAI DISTRICT.

Tsungming Crossing.

Alteration in Buoyage.

REFERRING to Special Notice to Mariners No. 439, notice is hereby given that the following changes in the buoyage of Tsungming Crossing have been made.

The East Entrance Buoy is now moored in 44 feet at low water of spring tides. From the Buoy the Dumb Beacon bears N. 861° E., distant 1.7 miles. It should be noted that the position of this Buoy is materially different from that named in Special Notice to Mariners No. 439.

The First Crossing Buoy is now moored in 13 feet at low water of spring tides. From the Buoy the Dumb Beacon bears N. 711° E., distant 3.3 miles.

The Second Crossing Buoy is now moored in 20 feet at low water of spring tides. From the Buoy the Dumb Beacon bears N. 71° E., distant 4.9 miles.

All bearings are magnetic.
