children born in Hong Kong to the people above on, or after,

1 January 1983, and who are on limitation of stay.

(ii) People who have been granted

unconditional stay, but do not have right of abode in the HKSAR. will comprise

Children born overseas to CI holders;

stateless non-Chinese residents (mainly Eurasians, Indians, and White Russians); and

immigrants of Chinese race, mainly from China, Macau, and Taiwan, who are spouses and children of permanent residents of the HKSAR and who have been granted unconditional stay after three years' residence.

(b) re-admission to the HKSAR

People in paragraph 2(a)(i) should be required to obtain re-entry visas to return to the HKSAR and be subject to limitation of stay on each return journey.

The documents of those in 2(a)(ii) should bear an endorsement stating that the holder may return to the HKSAR without a visa and may land in the HKSAR

unconditionally within the validity of the documents.

(c) validity : seven years.

(d) remarks

Holders of HKSAR travel documents equivalent to the DI should normally become eligible for HKSAR passports or HKSAR CIS when they have acquired right of abode in the HKSAR.
