advertisements for any
medical preparation can be
broadcast on television.
Review
The scope of Director of Health's
discretion is undefined and the law does
not provide guidance for people's
conduct.
Conclusions and recommendations
The Regulations should spell out
more clearly the criteria for
approval.

Section 13C

condition requiring the
licensee to refrain from
broadcasting certain
materials.
This power might be considered as too
broad.
Suitable amendments to section
13C will be made
when we next introduce amending
legislation into LegCo.
Section 13M
prohibition of radio
programmes
The Journalists Association suggests
that such a provision should not be
retained on the statute book when a
state of emergency is not in effect
Amendments similar to those
proposed for the Television
Ordinance will be made.
