2(a) The laws and regulations are brought to the notice of the public through publication in the Government Gazette and through press coverage. They are brought more particularly to the attention of the parties

2(d) Regulation 38(2) of the United Kingdom Merchant Shipping (Crew Accommodation) Regulations requires the master of a ship or an officer appointed by him to inspect the crew accommodation at intervals not exceeding seven days and to record the inspection in the official log book. Surveyors of the Marine Department are empowered to conduct inspections under circumstances prescribed in this section and also when the Director of Marine has reason to believe that a requirement of these regulations has not been satisfied.
