(c) in respect of the functional constituencies
specified in Part II of Schedule 2, in
accordance with the simple or relative majority
system of election (otherwise known as the
"first past the post" system of election)
whereby the elector may vote for as many
candidates as there are vacancies and no more
and
(1) the candidate in a single-seat
constituency (contested by 2 or more
candidates) to whom the greater or
greatest number of votes have been
given, as the case may be; or
(ii) the 2 candidates in a double-seat
constituency (contested by 3 or more
candidates) to whom the greatest and
next greatest number of votes have
been given,
shall be declared by the returning officer to be
elected.
For the purpose of subsection (2) (a), "relevant

in relation to an election held to fill a number
of vacancies for elected Members remaining
