Territories Citizen. Educated at the University of Hong
Kong. A barrister by profession. Married (Amelia) with
one child. Speaks Cantonese, Putonghua and English.

Mr. Lee represented the Legal Functional
Constituency in LegCo from 1985 to 1991, when he was
elected as a member for the Hong Kong Island East
Constituency. He is Chairman of the United Democrats of
Hong Kong and a member of the Fight Crime Committee, and
was until recently Chairman of the Consumer Council.
was a former member of the Basic Law Drafting Committee
who resigned after the 4 June incident.

Highly intelligent, articulate and
westernised. Strong proponent of increased democracy and
human rights, but not clear what his personal ambitions
are. Has developed a taste for the limelight since being
elected to LegCo, and has set himself up as an unofficial
"leader of the opposition" - a position which he may
instinctively prefer to the responsibility of taking hard
decisions as a member of the Government.
Closely
associated with the Hong Kong Alliance in support of the
Patriotic Democratic Movement in China in 1989, but has
now ceased to be an office-bearer in this.
