(g) We suggest excluding the sub-paragraph on agreements between the UK and the SAR after 1997.
(h) para 2: Court of Final Appeal: the agreement reached on this was an "agreement in principle" rather than a "principled agreement".
(i) We suggest including under "Major subjects on which agreements have been reached in the JLG" a sub-paragraph on franchises and contracts straddling 1997, along the following lines: "The JLG has considered and reached a common view on a number of franchises and other commercial agreements involving the HKG which straddle 1997. It has so far reached agreement on: renewed Scheme of Control arrangements for China Light & Power and Hong Kong Electric Co Ltd, the contract to build and run the Western New Territories Landfill, the establishment of an Electronic Data Interchange System, a Subscription TV licence."
