Immigration will be responsible for implementing the immigration policy in force at the time (see Part IV paragraph 17). In addition, he will be responsible for assisting Police with the documentation of persons detained in an emergency and providing Police with information from the Registration of Persons records.

The Department will also be responsible for meeting the urgent requirements of Government and volunteer personnel for new or replacement identity cards.
