The Director of
Immigration will be responsible for implementing the immigration policy in force at the time (see Part IV paragraph 17). In addition, he will be responsible for assisting Police with the documentation of persons detained in an emergency and providing Police with information from the Registration of Persons records.

The Department will also be responsible for meeting the urgent requirements of Government and volunteer personnel for new or replacement identity cards.

The Director of Information Services will be responsible for directing
Government's information efforts, as determined by the IPC (see Part II paragraph 10), of which he would be a member.

When it becomes necessary he will open up the Combined Information Centre on a 24 hour basis and arrange for Information desks in all Command and Control Centres to be manned.
