Headquarters and ROP Records Section
3.
This Section will consist of three teams each comprising one Immigration Officer, three Immigration Assistants and 12 Clerks working on three eight-hour shifts, and will function at the ROP Records Section, 15/F., Wanchai Tower II, 7, Gloucester Road, Wanchai. In addition, there will be a reserve of one Immigration Officer, three Immigration Assistants and six Clerks.

It will be able to provide the Police, if required, with details of registered particulars from records held by the ROP Sub-Division in the Immigration Department (at the rate of 3,000 records per shift).
Documentation Section

This Section will consist of three teams working on three shifts. Each team will comprise one Senior Immigration Officer, three Immigration Officers, nine Photographers II, 30 Clerks, one driver and will be equipped with one van. In addition, there will be a reserve of one Immigration Officer, one Photographer II, six Clerks and one driver.

Two of the teams will be stationed on the Kowloon Peninsula and one on Hong Kong Island. The object of this Section is to assist the Police in registering persons who have been detained for breach of curfew or other reasons, and to provide these persons, if required, with documentation.

Genuine Hong Kong residents will be easily identified as they are required by law to carry proof of identity and a check with the ROP Records Section will expose false identity card holders. Those who are genuine Hong Kong residents and who have lost their identity cards will be issued with a temporary identification paper (ROP 5). Each team will be able to handle 6,000 cases per shift.
