IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT

In addition to carrying out, as far as possible, its normal duties, the Immigration Department will be responsible for :

(a)

(b)

(c)

assisting the Police in the

documentation of persons detained in an emergency;

providing the Police with information from Registration of Persons (ROP) records; and

providing Auxiliary Units with

emergency identity cards, if required.

To carry out these tasks, the Immigration Emergency Unit will be established. It will be divided into three Sections, each consisting of three shifts providing round-the-clock service :

Headquarters and ROP Records Section;

Documentation Section; and

(c) Identity Card Section.
