New Zealand

There are 3 different types of investment under which one can

qualify in the Business Investment Category:-

(a) investment of a minimum of NZ $750,000 into a passive

investment, such as bank accounts,

bank accounts, trust funds, or listed stocks;

(b) investment of a minimum of NZ $625,000 in a commercial venture

in either the Auckland or Wellington urban areas;

(c) investment of a minimum of NZ $500,000 in a commercial venture

anywhere outside of the Auckland or Wellington urban areas.

Australia

Money, capital or other assets amounting to:-

not less than A $350,000 if aged below 40

not less than A $500,000 if aged between 40 and 57

not less than A $850,000 if aged 58 and above.

(The above requirements was effective from 1.10.89 but temporarily suspended in late 1991. A new Business Skills Category was introduced in February 1992. Updated information is not yet available.)
