The Chief Justice gives a brief address explaining the purpose of the ceremony. The Clerk of Councils reads the
Commission.
Invited by the Chief Justice to take: (a) the Oath of Allegiance;
(b) the Official Oath; and
(c) the Judicial Oath.
Chief Secretary, Sir David Ford, gives an address of welcome.
The Baroness Dunn, the Senior Member of the Executive Council, gives an address of welcome.
The Governor replies.
Escorted out of the Concert Hall by the Clerk of Councils and the ADC. Departure via the lefthand steps (facing out from the platform) and the lefthand aisle (that is the opposite steps and aisle to those used on entering). Mrs. Patten and family, the Chief Secretary and Lady Ford are escorted from the stage by the second ADC.
Joined in the foyer by Mrs. Patten and family, the Chief Secretary and Lady Ford. Proceed to the ante room.

During the Swearing of the three Oaths persons on the stage will stand.
