The Bill will confer on the Governor in Council power to make regulations respecting the carrying of medicines, medical
stores, etc.

Wherever the expression "Superintendent" is employed in the final column of the table, it means the office of Superintendent of the Mercantile Marine Office who will be a public officer appointed by the Director of Marine in his capacity as "Seafarers Authority" under the proposed localised legislation. The duties of the Superintendent may be carried out by a different person in respect of certain situations which arise outside Hong Kong.
