Pursuant to article 43 (2), the Convention will enter into force for China on the ninetieth day following the date of deposit of its instrument of accession, that is to say, on 23 December 1982. The Protocol, in accordance with article VIII (2), entered into force for China on the date of deposit of its instrument of accession, that is to say, on 24 September 1982.
