DECLARATION BY CHINA UNDER ARTICLE 1 B (1) (b) OF THE CONVENTION
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, acting in his
capacity as depositary, and referring to depositary notification C.N.247.1982.TREATIES-3 of 15 October 1982 concerning, inter alia,
the accession by the Government of China to the above-mentioned Convention, communicates the following:
In a communication received by the Secretary-General
on 18 November 1982, the Government of the People's Republic of China confirmed that it will interpret the words "events occurring before 1 January 1951" in article 1 (A) of the Convention as meaning "events occurring in Europe or elsewhere before
1 January 1951" as provided for in article 1 (B) (1) (b) of the
said Convention.
