Democratic principles clause
This standard clause will determine the link established between co-operation
and the observance of democratic principles and the effective recognition of
human rights.

(a) Objectives:

to strengthen existing links;
to promote greater participation in the economic development of the
other party;
- technical assistance with a view to implementing structural
investment;
to improve trade, with a view to wider diversification and better
quality as well as to opening up new markets;
to support the process of bringing businessmen closer together, with the emphasis on small and medium-sized businesses;
to favour investment flows and technology transfers and to strengthen
investment protection;
to strengthen the scientific base and capacity for innovation of both
parties;
to create jobs;
to support moves towards regional integration;
