Dear sir,

I am directed to offer you an appointment as

Machitrate in the Judiciary

in Hong Kong on agreement for years on the terms set ont in this latter and in the attached Memorandum on Conditions of Service for Officers appointed on Overseas and Annual Leave Agreement Terms (G.F. 3414 - November, 1991 herein- after referred to as the Memorandum). Please note that the Appendices to the Memorandum are only advisory documents for your information. They are for the purpose of explanat- ion only and do not form part of the agreement.

This offer of appointment is subject to the satis- factory completion of certain recruitment procedures which aru not a mere formality. Until this provisional offer is confirmed, you should not take any action, e.g. give notice of resignation to your present employer, which would prejudice your position in the event of failure.

The salary scale for the post being offered, with annual increments, is as follows:-

UK$22,560 · 23,575; 24,590: 25,605 per month.

On appointment you will enter the salary scale at HK$22,560 per month.
