Compliance with International Conventions

The Licensee shall, unless otherwise directed by the Authority, at all times observe and perform the relevant requirements of the International Telecommunication Convention including all regulations annexed thereto or

any other telecommunication agreements which may from time to time be acceded to by or on behalf of, or applied to, Hong Kong.

Use of Alternative Satellites

Where the Service is uplinked in accordance with Condition 13.1 the Licensee shall notify the Authority forthwith.

Where the Service will be, or is likely to be uplinked in accordance with Condition 13.1 for a period exceeding 30 days the Licensee shall seek the approval of the Authority specifying the circumstances necessitating the use of a temporary alternative satellite.

Where the Authority receives an application for approval under Condition 13.3 it shall consider that application in accordance with requirements of condition 13.5.

Where the Licensee intends to uplink on a long term basis to an alternative satellite which provides field strength for reception not substantially different

that registered with the International Frequency Registration Board for AsiaSat-1 and which has footprints not substantially greater than or different from those of AsiaSat-1 it shall apply in writing for approval

Before making an application under Condition 13.5 the Licensee shall secure all relevant approvals under the International Telecommunication Convention and regulations and shall exhibit such approvals with its application.

Where the Authority receives an application under Condition 13.5 and is satisfied that the alternative satellite proposed is as described in Condition 13.5 shall within 60 days of receipt of that application approve the use of that satellite.
