10.9. Tredia
I (the undersigned) was in London on 31 May 1991 and took the opportunity for a meeting at the BBC. I saw Ian Gilham, Head of Overseas Administration, World Service and Elizabeth Smith, Controller, English Services, World Service for a general discussion. In the course
of this, I explained that it was not at present possible to make any progress in Hong Kong on the question of an extended grant for the Tsang Tsui relay station site.

Mrs Smith is shortly to visit Beijing when
she will be meeting various officials in the Ministry
X
of Information. She intends to raise this question then. X She will clear her lines first with the British Ambassador to Beijing, whom she knows and with whom she has discussed matters of mutual interest, prior to his taking up his appointment.
