LUNCHES WITH JOURNALISTS

We agreed yesterday to reinstitute the occasional lunch with members of the media having interests falling within the responsibility of Lord Caithness.

2.

I suggest we might begin with John Ellison. Known to the office he has recently retired from Assistant Editorship of the Daily Express. He still writes occasionally for the Express but our main interest is in his occupation as stringer for the Oriental Daily News - an influential Chinese language paper with a circulation of about 500,000. Mr Ellison seems to carry a lot of weight with the newspaper and by way of a bonus is a pleasant and friendly chap.
