It was very nice to see you and Ian Gilham on

31 May and I found our discussion most useful.

When I got back to Hong Kong I discovered that we had indeed received our copy of the finalized agreement for our 24-hour relay of the World Service.

Thank you very much.

May I also take this opportunity to record our discussion about the possibility of extending the grant for the site for the Tsang Tsui relay station. I explained that it would not be feasible to make any progress on this from the Hong Kong end for the time being. You said that you would raise this issue during your forthcoming visit to Beijing although you would clear the line first with the British Ambassador.

I look forward to seeing you again soon, whether here or in London.
