Dear Mr Ricketts,
Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service in Hong Kong
May I, on behalf of our Association, congratulate you on your forthcoming appointment as head of the Hong Kong Department.
You will, I am sure, soon become familiar with the problems encountered by retired and serving members of HMOCS who were or are employed by the Hong Kong Government. We understand that consultations are now taking place between the Hong Kong and United Kingdom governments on the outstanding issues affecting HMOCS officers and pensioners and, after such a long wait, we hope that there will soon be some results.
We hope that you will soon visit Hong Kong and that your itinerary will allow you to meet representatives of the Civil Service Staff Associations, including
ours.
Yours sincerely,
Peter Leeds,
Chairman,
Pensionable Service Committee.
