Dear Mr Leeds.
attached.
HER MAJESTY'S OVERSEAS CIVIL SERVICE IN HONG KONG
Thank you for your letter of 22 July welcoming me to my new job as the Head of Hong Kong Department.
It is a privilege and a challenge to be dealing with Hong Kong affairs once more. I am conscious that once I arrive in the Department (2 September) one of the files I shall find on my desk is the one dealing with matters of concern to members of HMOCS in Hong Kong. I do appreciate that resolution of these issues has been outstanding for sometime. I know that the Department are already working hard to take them forward. I shall certainly make this one of my priorities.
I hope to visit Hong Kong during the autumn to meet as wide a range of people as possible. The concerns of members of HMOCS will be very much on my mind.
