The
Expressway is being designed in detail. The first
contract for the Tai Ho Section is scheduled to start in
early 1992.
Lantau Fixed Crossing
10. The Lantau Fixed Crossing will be a road and rail
crossing from Lantau Island across Ma Wan to Tsing Yi. It will consist of two large high-level bridge structures
Tsing Ma Bridge and Кар Shui Mun Bridge linked by a
high-level viaduct across Ma Wan Island.
The bridge
structure will carry an upper six-lane expressway and a lower deck with a high-speed rail link and two lanes for
vehicles. The

toll plaza and approach road on Lantau and an interchange
with Route 3 on Tsing Yi.

The Tsing Yi and Kwai Chung sector will connect the Lantau Fixed Crossing with the West Kowloon Expressway and will important part of the road system for the new Tsing Yi section consists of a dual 3-lane
kilometres long on North-West Tsing Yi,
of bored tunnels across Tsing Yi and a
kilometre bridge crossing the Rambler Channel. The
Chung Section consists of 4 kilometres of dual 3 and 4 lane highway leading up to Lai Chi Kok.
