MISSIONS FROM OVERSEAS
The number of visiting overseas missions rose during 1990-91 with the addition of several delegations from new markets. Among these were missions from East European countries, Vietnam, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Mongolia. Of the 330 business groups which visited Hong Kong, 171 were from Asia, 80 from Europe and 58 from the Americas.
OVERSEAS ASSOCIATIONS
Hong Kong associations around the world are gaining increased recognition from local governments and business communities. There are now 19 national Hong Kong associations located in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, the UK and the US with a total of over six thousand members. These associations are active in organising trade missions, seminars and cultural events designed to help reinforce economic ties between Hong Kong and major trading partners around the world.
