To meet the expanding local demand for practical trade skills, such as marketing, design, distribution, foreign languages and documentation, the TDC Research Department also launched a programme of workshops, seminars and training courses at the beginning of 1991.

To enhance buyer awareness of Hong Kong products around the world, the TDC has maintained its publications effort. In May 1990, the Council launched a new magazine, "Hong Kong Garments & Accessories". This bi-annual publication supplements the TDC's prize-winning fashion magazine, "Hong Kong Apparel". The new magazine ensures all aspects of Hong Kong's garment industry are properly presented, concentrat- ing on middle market range clothes and accessories.

The TDC also publishes "Hong Kong Gifts & Premiums", "Hong Kong Household", "Hong Kong Jewellery", "Hong Kong Toys”, and “Hong Kong Electronics”. In all, million magazines each year go to overseas buyers in more than 100 countries.
