COCOM. The Prime Minister would like a note on the future of COCOM in the light of changes in the Soviet Union. I have spoken to Mr Smith of NPDD about this.
Lockerbie. The Prime Minister would like a note on Lockerbie and, particularly, a recent report which the department will be familiar with which suggests that a gap may be opening between us and the Americans on handling. have not been able to contact anybody from SCD.

As regards handling, I shall be on duty over the weekend and will come into the office on Monday morning to put this material together. Apart from the exception above in relation to NATO, I think that the contributions should be in the normal form of elements of a Private Secretary letter. I should be grateful if all the elements could be with you by 0930 hrs on Monday morning. Could I please leave it to you to make sure this is all in hand?
