Various public notices will also be issuing within the

coming months relating to the acquisition of land

needed for the airport core projects. I should. in

this regard, like to draw your attention to the

following

(a)

on 16 November, a Gazette Notice will issue

announcing the Government's authorisation for the

reclamation of land required for the First Stage

Advance Works at Chek Lap Kok. This

authorisation follows Government's careful

consideration of objections received in response

to a Gazette Notice issued on 29 December 1989

announcing the Government's intention to proceed

with the reclamation

(b)

a Gazette Notice announcing the Government's

authorization of the West Kowloon Reclamation

will issue on 16 November.

(c)

a Gazette Notice will be published on 16 November

announcing the Government's authorization of the

resumption of private land on Chek Lap Kok. This

land will revert to the Government in February

1991 and it is intended to clear all residents

from the island by the end of March 1901 •
