Leave
(a)
Casual leave is earned at the rate prescribed in paragraph 9 of the Memorandum on Conditions of Service and may be approved in accoundance with PGO 8.03(C).
(b) The officer is further entitled to take 28 days vacation leave per
annum during his two year secondment. Such leave may be approved in accordance with PGO 8.03 sub-paragraph 2.
(c)
Casual and vacation leave may be combined but if so combined at the end of the secondment he will become eligible for his passage entitlement only at the commencement of the vacation leave.

Subject to the exigencies of the service; his Regional Commander's and this Headquarter's approval he may take the balance of his vacation leave up to the maximum permitted by (d) above, immediately prior to the expiry of the period of his secondment.
Leave not taken by reason of the officer's own volition will be forfeited.
When vacation leave is taken consecutively in spells of 12 days or less, it may be taken in half-day units (which is the smallest unit of vacation leave that may be taken at any one time) and will be calculated on a working day basis, i.e. intervening Sundays, gazetted general holidays, Saturday afternoons, and off-duty Saturday mornings are normally not counted as leave.
When vacation leave is taken consecutively in spells of more than 12 days, it may not be taken in half-day units and will be calculated on a calendar day basis, i.e. intervening Sundays, gazetted general holidays, Saturday afternoons and off-duty Saturday mornings are normally counted as leave.
Vacation Leave can be taken in Hong Kong or Macau without any deduction.
