These 22 persons left HO CHI MINH CITY by train and arrived at HANOI on 1-5-90. They stayed there for 3 days to seek a courier. A 40 years old Vietnamese male merchant, "DANH", was met and charged 0.7 tael of gold from them for escort service to the border town DONG DANG. On 5-5-90, they arrived at LANG SIN and were intercepted by a VN policeman of unknown name. As claiming to visit relatives in PRC, they were then let go with nothing impounded. After having a night's rest, they headed for DONG DANG and the courier left them after passing the Sino-Vietnamese border. They then passed the Friendship Pass
