The other group of 8 left Da Nang, C.VN by boat on 28.1.90. On their way to Hong Kong near Macao, their boat wrecked and they were rescued by PRC to Gui Shan Dao.

1.5.3 This boat is believed not to be any one of the two boats respectively with 65 and 105 VBP some new arrivals reported to have sighted in Ying Pan () and Hai An () in end December 1989. This boat had not touched the two places. It stayed near Fang Cheng (A) from 2.12.89 to 23.12.89 and Qi Sha() from 29.12.89 to 10.2.90 due to engine trouble.

1.5.4 The VBP reported that they had been inspected by PRC officials at Jiang Ping and Fang Cheng. They were allowed to buy their necessities from the local residents.

One group of 2 left Ho Chi Minh City S.VN on 8.2.90. Led by a Chinese courier, they crossed the Sino-Vietnamese land border via Lang Son (3) to Dong Dang ( ), China. They were taken via Peng Xiang (7) Lung Zhou H), Nan Ning() to Guang Zhou (H

to Guang Zhou (H) on 24.2.90. they joined 16 other illegals to sneak to Hong Kong by boat. They were unloaded at an unknown beach in Hong Kong on 25.2.90. The group dispersed and the 2 Vietnamese were intercepted by Tuen Mun Police the same day. (VRD 17/90)

One female Vietnamese was found by Marine Police on Tung Lung Island on 26.2.90. She reported to have come from Thanh Hoa, N.VN. She fled Vietnam by land via Lang Son ( 4 ) to Peng Xiang () in early November 1989 with 2 friends. Her friends took her to Cheng Hai (4) of Guang Dong) and forced her to marry a local resident (address not available). She ran away two months later and assisted by a neighbour (unidentified), she eventually reached Shen Zhen () in Mid February and sneaked through the Sino-British border to Hong Kong on 18.2.90. After her arrival, she had been harboured by an unknown Chinese man who later took her to Tung Lung Island and left her there. (VRD 18/90)
