SUBVERSION?
We have made clear that we and the Hong Kong Government have no intention of allowing Hong Kong to be used as a base for subversion against the People's Republic of China. But Hong Kong society is based on a system that gives legal protection to certain freedoms. It is essential that those freedoms be preserved. However, in any free society people need to be responsible in the way they exercise their freedoms. We believe the majority of Hong Kong people realise
the good sense of this.
