Among the arrangements foreseen

in the CPA. is

the introduction of procedures for determining

the status of all newly arriving Indo-Chinese

asylum-seekers in South East Asian countries,

Thus, under the provisions of the CPA only those

asylum-seekers recognized a8 refugees will qualify for resettlement.

Nevertheless, there remain between 50,000 and

60,000 Vietnamese refugees for whom resettlement

qualified them for primae facie recognition.

Undertakings by resettlement countries
