As I promised when we met on 25 January, I approached Barney Hayhoe, a trustee of the Ariel Foundation, to see whether it would be possible for the Foundation to make a contribution towards the costs of your proposed all party parliamentary delegation to China.

I have now received a reply from Mr Hayhoe saying that the Foundation is willing to make a grant of £1000 towards the delegation's travel expenses for this visit. I understand that this amount is in line with the Foundation's general past practice in helping comparable projects. Mr Hayhoe would be grateful if you would contact him direct about the method of payment.

I am glad that we were able to find some funds for you, although only a modest amount, and I hope that this will enable you to mount a successful visit.
