LABOUR PARTY GROUP TO VISIT CHINA: 3-15 JULY

1. Please refer to your minute of 4 May on this subject.

2. In February 1978 the then FCO Minister of State, Lord Goronwy-Roberts, approached Barney Hayhoe, a trustee of the Aerial Foundation, to see whether the Foundation could make a contribution towards the cost of the first All-Party parliamentary delegation to China. The foundation agreed to provide a grant of £1000.
