Explanatory Memorandum

This Bill amends the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance by increasing the penalties for offences under the Ordinance and raising the level of the penalties that may be prescribed in regulations made under the Ordinance for contraventions of those regulations.

Clause 2 amends section 15 to remove the limitation on the level of the penalties that may be prescribed in regulations made under that section for contraventions of those regulations.
