Dear Dr. NGUYEN,
Education Project in Hong Kong Refugee Camps
Thank you for your letter of 13 June 1986.
The Hong Kong Immigration Department has given approval for the issue of entry visa to Miss C. Cenalmor, who will be allowed to work in the refugee camps in Hong Kong. They have already communicated this decision to the British Embassy in Paris.
With regard to the launching of a programme for French language training for the refugees, we would endeavour, in consultation with the UNHCR and the voluntary agencies, to make available appropriate physical facilities for the implementation of the programme in the closed centres. We can discuss further about the detailed arrangement when Miss Cenalmor arrives here. The UNHCR is responsible for the management of the open camps and you should discuss with them regarding the provision of facilities if you wish to conduct similar training programmes in these camps.
I understand that Cathay Pacific Airlines has already agreed to provide free air tickets for your volunteers to travel to Hong Kong but I have not received any confirmation about this matter.
You may wish to know that the education and adult language training programmes in refugee camps here are funded entirely by the UNHCR. It would therefore be
