Notes

1)

Figures are for 1996 with EHC operating at capacity.

2) Figures in brackets are reserve capacities after modifications

proposed in text are incorporated.

3.3.5

The provision of direct access between the EHC and Taikoo Shing diverts certain traffic flows which, on the proposed layout, would use the Sai Wan Ho, Kornhill, and Healthy Street IEC interchanges for access to and from the EHC. This included all EHC traffic to or from Taikoo Shing and some traffic flows from Quarry Bay and the area to the east of the Healthy Street IEC slip roads. Table 3.5 presents for the evening and morning peaks, the breakdown of the traffic flow using the Option B Taikoo Shing links, in terms of the junctions used in the base Option A, and in terms of the areas in Quarry Bay with which the traffic is associated.
