We act for The Shell Company of Hong Kong Limited, Crown Lessee of NKIL 5776 under a Royalty Lease dated 3rd August 1979 for a term of 21 years less the last 3 days commencing from 1st July 1976. At present, our client operates a self-service petrol filling station on the property which station represents one of our client's most important retail outlets in Kowloon in terms of sales turnover.

We are instructed to give you notice of objection pursuant Section 10 of the Roads (Works, Use and Compensation) Ordinance ("the Ordinance") in respect of some of the proposed works and use of the area affecting our client's station gazetted in G.N, 112 (Gazette No.2/1986) and shown on Drawing No. RO/15 in relation to the construction of the Eastern Harbour Crossing. In particular, our client objects to the following scope of works and use which, if executed, might result in the resumption and close-down of their station valud.
(a) widening of Lei Yue MynTM Road; between its junctions with Yau
Tong Road and Cha Kwo Ling Road;
(b)
(c)

modifications to the northern kerbline of Lei Yue Mun Road to provide vehicular access to a proposed transport interchange;
modifications to existing ground level roads associated with the above works; and
(d) generally, the designation of an area embracing our client's
station as a transport interchange.
