Mr. T.H. Ng confirmed that the footpath on the Western side of Percival Street (adjacent to the staircase) would remain open to pedestrians at all times during construction. Pedestrian access to the shop would therefore not be affected.

Mr. T.. Ng explained that the assessment and award of compensation, if any, would be made in accordance with the Roads (Works, Use and Compensation) Ordinance and that withdrawal of objections would not reduce any compensation for which they may be eligible.

Ms. Monita Leung advised Kesars Ho to present the details of their claim in accordance with the Ordinance, a copy of which could be obtained from the Government Publications Sale Centre. The submission could be either in English or Chinese.

Messrs. Ho agreed to reconsider their objection to the scheme they would inform Mr. T.W. Ng of thair Assisior within three weeks.
