Mr Peter TSAO Kwang-yung, CPM, JP

Aged 52. Joined the civil service in

February 1955. He was appointed as an Assistant Trade

Officer in February 1966 and, through a series of

promotions became Commissioner of Trade Industry and

Customs in January 1979. He transferred to the

Administrative Service as an Administrative Officer

Staff Grade B1 in July 1982 and was promoted to

his present rank of Secretary, Government Secretariat

in January 1986. He took over the post of Director

of Information Services in July 1983 and assumed

his present post of Secretary for Administrative

Services and Information in April 1985.

Mr Derek Jones, CMG

Aged 58. After service in the U.K. civil

service from 1950 1969, Mr Jones was transferred

to the Hong Kong civil service as an Administrative

Officer Staff Grade B2 in June 1971 and was

promoted to the rank of Secretary, Government

Secretariat in February 1977. He was the Secretary

for Economic Services from 1973 to 1976; Secretary

for Environment from 1976 to 1981, and Secretary
