Project Objective and Means of Verification
(a) Project Objective
An estimated 3,500 - 4,000 refugees in various countries in South East Asia, except Thailand, will be resettled in third countries by the end of 1985.
(b) Means of Verifiction
Monthly number of departures.
Description of Beneficiaries
The total number of Indo-Chinese refugees in countries of temporary asylum other than Thailand, not including RPC's stood at 34,403 as at 31 October 1984 as follows:

The caseload varies from month to month according to departures for resettlement and new arrivals/registrations.
3. Description of Assistance
The project is designed to facilitate the resettlement of the said persons by providing funds for the transportation of persons accepted and whose travel is not paid either by the Government of the receiving country, or any other
source.
(a)
Transportation
(i) The Agency will be entitled to charge for the transportation of refugees to their designated country of resettlement at the cheapest available official rate.
(ii) The Agency will be entitled to charge for medical escorts
and/or care and maintenance during transit when directly related to the transportation of refugees.
