Report in the HK Economic Journal: The Government has said in reply to a question raised by Central and Western DB
chairman Vincent Ko that
Basic law is China's
internal matter and therefore it will not be appropriate for DBs to put forward their views and recommendations on
the Basic Law to the HK
Government.
Civil service unionists Anthony Luk and Kwok Yuen-hon: The proposal to include civil servants on
the consultative committee should be welcomed.
Drafting committee member Justice Li: The inclusion of civil servants will benefit the whole territory because Government service covers such a wide scope and there are in the civil service experts in all areas of administration.
