(a) Government should commit themselves to annual report and
Parliamentary debate on it.
(b) Hong Kong should be represented on JLG and in drafting Basic
Law not just by Hong Kon~ Government officials, Hong Kong people
must be represented, not just consulted.
(c) Need for progress towards greater democracy.
(d) Need for assurance that minority groups will not become
stateless.
(e) Vietnamese refugees.
(f) Danger of old grudges being settled against people involved in
security matters etc: undertakings must be given.

(a) Assurance of religious freedom after 1997 should be one of
JLG's main objectives.

Judging of the issues in claim that ceded part of Hong Kong is
not viable on its own. Falklands not viable.

Difficulties of Hong Kong BDTCs entering UK: visa stamp system
should be introduced to facilitate movement of regular travellers

(c) Parliament should debate an annual written report on the work
of the JLG.
(d)
Progress on representative government should be left in hands of
Hong Kong people.
